Found this auto on east 24th street, right after leaving a parade of (maybe) Sikhs on Madison Ave on Saturday the 24th. Categorically, this is the world’s coolest car, despite the jersey license plates. Seriously customized, it’s a Toyota of some kind under all the “bling”.

from wikipedia

Toyota has factories in most parts of the world, manufacturing or assembling vehicles for local markets. Toyota has manufacturing or assembly plants in Japan, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Canada, Indonesia, Poland, South Africa, Turkey, Colombia, the United Kingdom, the United States, UAE, France, Brazil, Portugal, and more recently, Argentina, Czech Republic, Mexico, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Egypt, China, Vietnam, Venezuela, the Philippines, and Russia.

The exhaust pipes that adorn it, beneath the doors, are actually a weird combination of duct tape and pipe. The whole vehicle had a sense of “hand” to it, and a certain charm. Your humble narrator, of course, was drawn to the flyer tucked under the drivers side windshield wiper. I just can’t resist a good flyer.

Unchangeable Power, it says, and I like to believe that whoever was pamphleteering the neighborhood- locally dominated by a National Guard armory, made it a special point to drop their booklet on this car. They must be attracted to fog lights and soldiers.

from wikipedia

The 69th Regiment Armory located at 68 Lexington Avenue, New York, New York, is a historical building completed in 1906. It still houses the U.S. 69th Infantry Regiment.

The building, which runs from 25th to 26th Streets on the west side of Lexington Avenue, was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965.

The pamphlet, which is a screed published by Tony Alamo’s Christian Ministries- a Texas based church- is available online here. Pastor Alamo’s congregation is a familiar one to New Yorkers due to constant printed proselytizing, and the local meeting house is found at the Vincci Hoteles, 16 east 32nd street.

Pastor Alamo is a controversial figure, for those of you not in the know. Check out this 2007 page at the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch for more info on him and his group. Nevertheless, this was a very cool car.

  1. UNCHANGEABLE POWER

    by Tony Alamo

Those who are saved, born again of the Spirit, are immortal. They have a steadfast anchor for their souls, knowing that they, in Heaven, are forever exempt from death.1 They have a promise from God, who cannot lie, that they will have a life, or being, as an immortal soul, that shall never end, but be free from pain, sickness, aging, and corruption in the paradise which is Heaven.2 Our new lives as new creatures are never ending; they will be everlasting, perpetual, imperishable, and free from annihilation. “Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (II Tim. 1:10).

The promise of God to those of us who are born again of the Spirit cannot be altered. It is the same yesterday, today, and forever, because God, who promises this, is also unchangeable.3 He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! God is immutable, which means unchangeable. He is not capable of ever changing. Hebrews 6:17-20 states, “Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability [unchangeableness] of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable [unchangeable] things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we [who are saved] might have a strong consolation [reward for faith and holiness], who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil [eternity]; Whither the forerunner [Jesus] is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”

This is why, no matter what we will go through, nothing must ever separate us from the love of God.4 If it would, according to God, who cannot lie, it would be better that we had never known the truth.5 “For if we [even us apostles] sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins” (Heb. 10:26).

Jesus had to sacrifice Himself just one time (for the remission of our sins).6 He will not die again for anyone, especially for those who believe they can continue sinning. “But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant [the promise of immortality], wherewith he [the person who was once saved] was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace [which means mercy]? For we know Him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto Me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge His people [as He promised]. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb. 10:27-31). These promises are immutable, which again means unchangeable!!7 They are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8).

Other immutable (unchangeable) promises of God are: “But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in Heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword [this sword is the Word of GOD, which the world hates]. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

“He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me [Why? It is because your mother, father, sister, or brother didn’t die for you. Jesus, and no one else, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into Heaven for you. Only Jesus is able to give you eternal life. This is immutable, unchangeable!]: and he that loveth son or daughter more than ME is not worthy of ME. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me. He that findeth his [secular] life shall lose it: and he that loseth his [secular] life for My sake shall find it [eternal life]. He that receiveth you receiveth Me, and he that receiveth Me receiveth Him that sent Me” (Matt. 10:33-40).

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
