Due to another band of winter weather, your humble narrator greets you on this President’s Day holiday with an archived shot from a couple of weeks back, when the Three Rivers of Pittsburgh were frozen solid. That’s the Duquesne Incline, one of two funicular railways here in Pittsburgh, which I refer to as ‘the red one.’ The other is the yellow one.

Back tomorrow with something a bit more substantial. I hope.

  1. No such thing as Presidents or President’s or Presidents’ Day. It’s officially George Washinton’s Birthday. Tell us when the change was made.

    • On some screwy, groovy afternoon in the 90’s? What the hell, this is a thing now?

      • Yes. Where even does the apostrophe go . . . or not go? Presidents-President’s-Preside ts’ ? How do you even spell this misnomer? Why contribute to the denigrating of the Father of Our Country George Washington whom the holiday is officially named for?

  3. You originally wrote “President’s” referring to one president. Who might that one president be? Washington? And I presume the Duquesne Incline traverses Mt. WASHINGTON, No? Sssh . . . keep that under wraps or it might be renamed.
